The Clinical Outcome and Compliance of Ceclor¢ç Therapy for Acute Bronchitis

Abstract
|
|
|
Objective : The primary objective of the study was to evaluate the clinical outcome of ceclor¢ç therapy and to assess the compliance of ceclor¢ç therapy for the treatment of patients with acute bronchitis in general practice setting.
Methods : This study collected data over 3300 patients through nation wide in primary intervention area. Patients were enrolled according to clinical decision, independent of this study, to prescribe ceclor¢ç 250 mg TID. All the procedure remained as routine practice procedure. The method of follow-up was determined by the participating investigators and might be done by consultation or phone contact. The follow-up was performed between day 7-14, after initial consultation.
Results : Total 3192 patients completed this trial. The clinical outcome of ceclor¢ç treatment show following figure, 63.1% in cure, 33.9% in improvement, and 2.9% in treatment failure. The critical factor of treatment revealed smoking which was related to treatment progress in general.
